Rug Cleaning in Missionary Ridge
Collection and delivery in Missionary Ridge are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Missionary Ridge is built from
Historic houses strung along the crest and stepped into both flanks of the ridge, many from the 1890s through the 1930s, characteristically built with a daylight basement or a tuck-under garage because the lot falls away underneath them.
Owners who wanted the view and accepted the driveway that comes with it. Houses are frequently formal in plan, with a dining room and a front room that see little traffic and hold the best rugs.
The Missionary Ridge problem
Everything on this ridge is a slope, and water moves through a slope rather than sitting on it. After the long wet stretch that runs November through March, groundwater tracks downhill and arrives at the uphill wall of the basement, which is where the rug that got demoted from the living room usually ends up. Slab and block walls wick it upward, the floor stays a few degrees below room temperature, and a rug laid directly on it is being dried from one side and wetted from the other. The second issue here is purely practical: the driveways are steep, narrow and often shared, so collection is planned around a vehicle that can actually turn around, and rugs are rolled at the door rather than dragged down a flight of outside steps.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
